8.3.2 Pumps
- Self-priming
- Can also be used with adhesives containing abrasive fillers
- Operating pressure up to max. 400 bar
- Dosing quantity proportional to the speed of the piston rod
- Heated designs available
- Adhesive viscosity: low to high viscosity
- Wear visible from the outside
Piston pump:

- Self-priming
- Slight pressure drop on reversal of movement (ca. 5 – 10%)
- Permanent dosing
- Can also be used with adhesives containing abrasive fillers
- Operating pressure up to max. 400 bar
- Dosing quantity proportional to the speed of the piston rod
- Heated designs available
- Adhesive viscosity: low to high viscosity
- Wear only partially visible from the outside
Twin-action piston pump:
![doppelt_wirkende_kolbenpumpe](https://leitfaden.klebstoffe.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/doppelt_wirkende_kolbenpumpe-1.png)
- There must always (!) be pressure on the inlet side; not self-priming
- Virtually pulsation-free adhesive application
- Permanent dosing
- Can also be used with adhesives containing fillers
- Operating pressure up to max. 100 bar
- Dosing output proportional to the drive speed
- Heated designs available
- Adhesive viscosity: low to high viscosity
- Slip increases with duration of use; not detectable from outside
