8.2.4 Application of the adhesive
- If necessary apply masking tape to areas of the substrates that must not be applied with adhesive
- Select a suitable tool for applying the adhesive
- Apply the prescribed layer thickness of adhesive (depends on the adhesive and particular application)
- Spacers and glass beads already incorporated into the adhesive by the manufacturer help maintain a given layer thickness
- Heed the processing times (pot life, skinning time, etc.)
- Adhesive that comes out of the joint should be removed, either immediately or later in the partly cured state, and disposed of according to regulations
