4.3 Hand s‌trength

Hand strength (also handling strength):

This term refers to the strength of a bonded joint which allows further processing of the bonded components to be undertaken without additional sec‌uring being required. Namely, the positioning device may be removed on reaching this strength. Adhesive manufacturers often equate hand strength with attainment of a certain strength value (usually between 0.2 and 1 MPa) or with a certain percentage of the final strength.

The hand strength is also sometimes called the handling strength.
